What a busy week this will be! Over the weekend I travelled to Houston to celebrate my neice's first birthday party!
At school, we are celebrating red ribbon week and learning about the dangers of drugs. Check your student's agenda for the dress up theme for the week.
Monday
Math - Multiplying by Powers of 10, Math Journal page 56
Science - Inquiry Lab 2.1 Using a triple beam balance and a graduated cylinder, students will determine the density of water.
Tuesday
**I will be out with a sub all day for professional development.**
Math - 5 minute Multiplication Test, Math Journal page 58 (continuing multiplying by powers of 10)
Science - Vocabulary work (crossword puzzle), and educational science video clips about density.
Wednesday
Math - Reviewing and reteaching powers of 10. Grade Skills Link Page
Science - Finish and discuss inquiry 2.1. Biggest take home, the density of water is about 1 g/cm3. Set up journals for Inquiry 2.2 Determining Density of Regular Objects.
Thursday
Math - Continued reviewing and reteaching of powers of 10.
Science - Inquiry 2.2. Students calculated volume, mass, and density for plastic, wax, glass, and aluminum using a ruler and triple beam balance.
Friday
Donuts for Dads! A HUGE thank you to our dads, Mr. Otis and Mr. Taylor for having donuts with my homeroom and sharing the importance of honesty and integrity! The kids really soaked in all you shared with them!
Math - Stations. Task cards around room and pizzazz papers for independent practice on multiplying by powers of 10.
Science - Finish Inquiry 2.2 and discuss.
