Week of 11/9-11/13

A note about exit slips. Students are allowed to take their exit slips home (in math or science) and redo for full credit. This is the major idea behind JEI moving towards grading for mastery.

Monday

Math - Dividing with whole numbers. Review of dividing with whole numbers and annexing zeroes rather than leaving a remainder. Journal page 67

Science - Inquiry 3.1 Finding the density of corn syrup and vegetable oil.

Tuesday

Math - Dividing with whole numbers. Go over journal page 67 and make any corrections. Teach the game Division Top It.

Science - Inquiry 3.1 Building density column. Began online video of building a 9 layer density column.

Wednesday

Math - Homeroom: played Division Top-It, Afternoon group was in the Veteran's Day Assembly.

Science - Finished video of building a 9 layer density column. Make predictions and discuss the outcome of dropping the copper cylinder and nylon spacer into our density column.

Thursday -

Math - 2.8 Dividing decimals lesson and note taking

Science - Article and discussion "Why did the Titanic Float?"

Friday

Math - Stations (Word Problems, Division Top-It, Math Journal Page 68, Menu Math using addition, multiplication and division of decimals).
